SXSW
Austin media conference
SXSW, short for South by Southwest, is an annual festival held in Austin, Texas, that combines conferences and showcases in music, film, and interactive media.
What began in 1987 as a music festival has expanded into a major cultural and industry event where emerging artists perform, filmmakers premiere work, and tech companies launch products.
The name riffs on the Hitchcock film *North by Northwest*.
I'm heading to SXSW to check out some new bands and catch a few panels.
