Rolleiflex

German medium-format camera

Rolleiflex is a brand of twin-lens reflex camera made by the German company Franke & Heidecke, first introduced in 1929.

The cameras are known for their distinctive waist-level viewfinder design, where photographers look down into a hood rather than through an eyepiece.

Rolleiflex cameras became iconic tools for mid-20th-century street and portrait photography, favored by professionals for their quiet operation and square medium-format negatives.

She shot the whole series on her grandmother's old Rolleiflex.
