Rafah
Gaza's Egyptian border
Rafah is a city in the southern Gaza Strip, on the border with Egypt.
It became prominent in global news during the 2023–2024 Israel-Hamas war as the site of border crossings for humanitarian aid and as a destination for displaced Palestinians fleeing fighting elsewhere in Gaza: Over a million people sheltered in Rafah.
