Prince Edward Island

Canada's smallest province

Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province, located in the Gulf of St.

Lawrence off the eastern coast.

Known for its red sand beaches, rolling farmland, and seafood—particularly potatoes and lobster—the island draws tourists and inspired the setting for the novel *Anne of Green Gables*.

Residents are called Islanders, and the province joined Canadian Confederation in 1873.
