Passover customs
Exodus commemoration practices
Passover customs are the traditional practices Jews observe during the eight-day spring festival commemorating the Exodus from Egypt.
Central among these is the seder, a ritual meal featuring symbolic foods like matzah (unleavened bread), bitter herbs, and charoset.
Families remove all leavened bread from their homes and refrain from eating it throughout the holiday.
The seder includes reading the Haggadah, asking four questions, and leaving a cup of wine for the prophet Elijah.
