Red Sea crossing
Moses' parted waters
The Red Sea crossing is the biblical episode in which Moses parts the waters of the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to escape from Egypt while Pharaoh's pursuing army drowns when the waters return.
The story appears in Exodus and remains central to Jewish Passover observance.
Figuratively, a Red Sea crossing is any miraculous deliverance from impossible circumstances: The last-minute funding was our Red Sea crossing.
