PMS

Monthly hormonal symptoms

PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome—the cluster of physical and emotional symptoms many women experience in the days before menstruation: bloating, irritability, mood swings, fatigue.

The term gets used loosely, sometimes dismissively, to attribute a woman's anger or moodiness to her cycle: She's just PMSing.

As a verb, to PMS is to experience these symptoms or to act irritably.
