hot flashes
Sudden body heat
Hot flashes are sudden sensations of intense heat, typically spreading across the face, neck, and chest, often accompanied by sweating and flushed skin.
They're most commonly associated with menopause, when hormonal changes trigger the body's temperature regulation to misfire.
Also called hot flushes, especially in British English: She's been having hot flashes since her forties.
