Olympic bar
Standard lifting barbell
An Olympic bar is a standardized barbell used in competitive weightlifting and serious strength training.
It weighs 20 kilograms (about 45 pounds), measures seven feet long, and has rotating sleeves that spin independently to reduce stress on the wrists during lifts.
The rotating ends distinguish it from fixed-sleeve bars used in casual gym settings: I finally upgraded to an Olympic bar for my home gym.
