Objective-C

Pre-Swift iOS language

Objective-C is a programming language that adds object-oriented features to C, developed in the early 1980s.

It became the primary language for Apple's macOS and iOS development until Swift largely supplanted it in 2014.

The syntax layers Smalltalk-style messaging onto C's foundation: The legacy codebase was all Objective-C.
