Nyan Cat
Rainbow-trailing pixel kitty
Nyan Cat is an internet meme from 2011 featuring an animated pixel-art cat with a Pop-Tart body flying through space, leaving a rainbow trail, set to a looping Japanese pop song.
The hypnotic combination of cute imagery and repetitive music made it one of the most recognizable viral videos of its era: I had Nyan Cat stuck in my head all day.
