The Backrooms is an internet horror concept depicting an infinite labyrinth of empty, unsettling rooms—yellowish fluorescent lighting, damp carpet, monotonous walls—that one supposedly enters by "noclipping" out of reality.
The imagery evokes liminal spaces: places that feel familiar yet wrong, like an office building after hours or a mall that's been closed for years.
I accidentally noclipped into the Backrooms.
What began as a creepypasta has spawned elaborate lore about levels, entities, and survival guides, plus games, films, and fan communities.
