Notre-Dame fire
Paris cathedral disaster
The Notre-Dame fire was a catastrophic blaze that engulfed the medieval cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris on April 15, 2019, destroying its iconic spire and most of its roof.
The fire, likely caused by an electrical fault or discarded cigarette during renovation work, shocked the world and prompted an international outpouring of grief and pledges for reconstruction.
I watched the Notre-Dame fire on the news, stunned as the spire collapsed.
