Mount Lebanon
Beirut's towering backdrop
Mount Lebanon is a mountain range in Lebanon running parallel to the Mediterranean coast, historically significant as the homeland of Maronite Christians and Druze communities.
The name also refers to a former Ottoman administrative district and to several places in the United States, notably a suburb of Pittsburgh.
The cedars of Mount Lebanon appear on the Lebanese flag.
