Minnehaha
Dakota waterfall name
Minnehaha is a Dakota name meaning "waterfall" (literally "curling water"), most familiar from the character in Longfellow's poem *The Song of Hiawatha*—the love interest of the title hero.
The name attaches to places across the United States, most notably Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis: We took the kids to see Minnehaha Falls.
