Manannán mac Lir

Manannán mac Lir is a sea god in Irish and Celtic mythology, son of Lir (the sea itself).

He rules the otherworld across the waves, ferries souls to the afterlife, and commands mists and illusions.

Associated with the Isle of Man, which bears his name.

He appears in medieval Irish literature as a trickster figure with a magical cloak and self-navigating boat.
