MHC class II
Immune display molecules
MHC class II molecules are proteins on the surface of certain immune cells that display fragments of foreign substances to helper T cells, triggering immune responses.
Found primarily on cells that specialize in presenting antigens—macrophages, dendritic cells, B cells—they help the immune system distinguish self from non-self.
MHC stands for major histocompatibility complex.
