Korean War veteran

Fought near Yalu

A Korean War veteran is a person who served in the military during the Korean War (1950–1953), the conflict between North and South Korea in which United Nations forces, predominantly American, fought alongside South Korea against North Korean and Chinese forces.

The term typically refers to someone still living: My grandfather is a Korean War veteran.

The conflict is sometimes called "the Forgotten War" because it fell between World War II and Vietnam in American memory.
