John Dory
Oval oceanic catch
John Dory is an edible fish found in coastal waters of Europe, Africa, and Asia, prized for its firm white flesh.
The fish is easily recognized by a distinctive dark spot on each side—legend says these are the thumbprints of St.
Peter, who caught the fish to pay a temple tax.
Also called St.
Pierre or St.
Peter's fish.
