James Bowie

James Bowie was an American frontiersman and soldier who died defending the Alamo in 1836.

He is remembered primarily for the bowie knife—a large fixed-blade fighting knife that bears his name, though his brother Rezin likely designed it.

He carried a bowie knife on his belt.
