Innerspace

World within oneself

Innerspace refers to the interior realm of the mind, psyche, or consciousness—the inward frontier contrasting with outer space.

The term gained currency in the 1960s alongside interest in meditation, psychedelic exploration, and psychology: The drug opened up vast innerspace.

It can also denote the microscopic world within the body, as in the 1987 film where a miniaturized vessel travels through human anatomy.

Sometimes spelled as two words: inner space.
