Galaxy Quest
Starship Protector's origin
Galaxy Quest is a 1999 science fiction comedy film in which the washed-up cast of a cancelled Star Trek–like television series is recruited by actual aliens who believe the show was real.
The film has become a cult classic and touchstone for affectionate parody of fan culture.
References to Galaxy Quest often invoke its central joke about the blurry line between fiction and reality, or its catchphrase Never give up, never surrender.
