Indus Valley
Ancient Mohenjo-daro's region
The Indus Valley is the region surrounding the Indus River in South Asia, primarily in modern Pakistan and northwestern India.
It was home to the Indus Valley Civilization (also called Harappan civilization), one of the world's earliest urban cultures, flourishing from roughly 3300 to 1300 BCE.
The term typically refers to this ancient civilization rather than the contemporary geographic region: Indus Valley artifacts, Indus Valley script.
