A Hutterite is a member of a Christian Anabaptist sect that lives in communal agricultural colonies, primarily in the northern United States and Canada.
Named after sixteenth-century founder Jakob Hutter, Hutterites share property, dress plainly, and maintain German-dialect traditions.
