Harare

Formerly called Salisbury

Harare is the capital and largest city of Zimbabwe, located in the northeastern part of the country.

Formerly called Salisbury under British colonial rule, it was renamed after independence in 1980.

The city serves as Zimbabwe's commercial and governmental center: Protests erupted in Harare over rising inflation.
