Grenfell
Arctic medical pioneer
Grenfell refers most often to Grenfell Tower, a London high-rise where a 2017 fire killed 72 people.
The disaster exposed failures in building safety regulations and became a symbol of institutional neglect of working-class communities: The Grenfell inquiry revealed systematic failures.
Grenfell is also a surname, notably borne by the medical missionary Wilfred Grenfell, who served Newfoundland and Labrador.
