Graf Zeppelin
German rigid airship
Graf Zeppelin was a German rigid airship that made history in the late 1920s and 1930s, completing the first commercial transatlantic passenger flights and circumnavigating the globe in 1929.
Named for Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, pioneer of rigid airship design, it became a symbol of interwar aviation glamour.
The name now evokes the golden age of dirigible travel—elegant, slow, and doomed by the Hindenburg disaster.
