Friedrich Engels
Kapital co-author's partner
Friedrich Engels was a German philosopher, political theorist, and industrialist who co-authored foundational communist texts with Karl Marx, including *The Communist Manifesto* (1848).
Engels financially supported Marx for decades and edited volumes of *Das Kapital* after Marx's death.
His own works, including *The Condition of the Working Class in England*, established him as a major socialist thinker in his own right.
