French cleat
Angled mounting strip
A French cleat is a mounting system using two interlocking beveled strips of wood or metal—one attached to a wall, the other to a heavy object like a cabinet or mirror.
The angled cuts allow the piece to hook securely onto the wall strip: I hung the tool cabinet with a French cleat.
Popular in workshops and galleries for its strength and adjustability.
