Fanconi syndrome

Renal tubular disorder

Fanconi syndrome is a disorder of the kidney tubules in which essential substances—glucose, amino acids, phosphate, bicarbonate—are lost in the urine instead of being reabsorbed into the blood.

It can be inherited or acquired through toxins, drugs, or other diseases.

Symptoms include excessive thirst, weak bones, and failure to thrive in children.
