Evangelism
Missionary outreach work
Evangelism is zealous advocacy or preaching, especially of religious faith.
The word comes from Christianity, where it refers to spreading the Gospel and converting others to belief in Jesus Christ.
The meaning has broadened to describe passionate promotion of any cause or idea: His evangelism for open-source software bordered on obsessive.
Tech companies speak of "developer evangelists" who champion their platforms.
