Enfields
Lee-bolt military weapons
Enfields refers to firearms manufactured at the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, England, or designed in the Enfield pattern.
The term most commonly denotes the Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifles that served as the standard infantry weapon for British and Commonwealth forces through both World Wars, or the earlier Enfield rifled muskets used during the American Civil War.
The soldiers carried their Enfields through the muddy trenches.
Enfield revolvers were also standard British military sidearms for decades.
