Dr. Frankenstein

Reanimated the dead

Dr.

Frankenstein is the scientist in Mary Shelley's novel who creates a monster from dead body parts and brings it to life.

The name has become shorthand for anyone who creates something dangerous or uncontrollable, especially through science or technology: The CEO became a Dr. Frankenstein, unable to control the AI he'd unleashed.

Often the name is mistakenly applied to the creature itself rather than its creator.
