DJ turntable
Club mixing equipment
A DJ turntable is a record player designed for live performance and mixing rather than passive listening.
Unlike home turntables, DJ models feature direct-drive motors for instant start-stop, high torque to resist slowdown from hand manipulation, and robust construction for scratching and beat-matching.
The Technics SL-1200 became the industry standard.
She practiced her scratching on a pair of turntables.
