Crohn's

Chronic digestive disease

Crohn's is a chronic inflammatory disease of the digestive tract, causing abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and weight loss.

Named for American gastroenterologist Burrill Crohn, it most commonly affects the small intestine and colon.

Unlike ulcerative colitis, which affects only the colon's inner lining, Crohn's can occur anywhere from mouth to anus and penetrate deeper tissue layers.
