Church of Satan
Atheistic Satanic denomination
The Church of Satan is a religious organization founded in 1966 by Anton LaVey in San Francisco.
Despite its name, it does not worship Satan as a deity but uses Satan as a symbol of individualism, carnality, and opposition to conventional morality.
Members practice ritual magic and follow LaVey's writings, particularly *The Satanic Bible*.
The church is atheistic, rejecting supernatural beliefs while embracing theatrical elements drawn from occult traditions.
