Celeron

Intel's economy processor

Celeron is Intel's budget line of microprocessors, positioned below the Pentium and Core brands.

Introduced in 1998, Celerons offer reduced performance at lower prices—typically with smaller caches and slower speeds than their premium counterparts.

They appear in entry-level laptops and desktops where cost matters more than power: It's just a Celeron, but it handles email and web browsing fine.
