NoSQL

Not relational storage

NoSQL refers to database systems that don't use traditional relational tables and SQL queries.

These databases handle unstructured or semi-structured data—documents, key-value pairs, graphs, or wide columns—and scale horizontally across servers more easily than conventional databases.

We moved to a NoSQL solution when our user data outgrew the relational model.

The term emerged in the late 2000s as web companies needed alternatives to rigid table structures.
