CD single

One-song disc

A CD single is a compact disc containing one or two songs, typically released to promote an album.

Popular from the late 1980s through early 2000s, CD singles often included remixes, B-sides, or exclusive tracks not available on the full album: I bought the CD single just for the acoustic version.

The format has been largely displaced by digital downloads and streaming.
