CDMA
Spread spectrum technology
CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access, a technology for transmitting cellular phone signals.
Unlike older systems that divided frequencies or time slots among users, CDMA allows multiple calls to share the same frequency by encoding each with a unique digital code.
The technology dominated American cell networks through the early 2000s before giving way to LTE and 5G.
