Bushman

Southern African indigene

Bushman refers to a member of the San peoples, indigenous hunter-gatherers of southern Africa.

The term was applied by European colonizers and is now considered offensive by many, with San preferred.

Lowercase bushman describes someone skilled at living in wild or remote terrain, especially in Australia: He's a proper bushman who can track anything through the outback.
