Blue Cross
Major insurance provider
Blue Cross is a major American health insurance organization, or more precisely, a federation of independent companies licensed to use the Blue Cross name and logo.
Originally nonprofit hospital insurance plans dating from the 1930s, Blue Cross companies merged with Blue Shield (which covered physician services) to form Blue Cross Blue Shield, often abbreviated BCBS.
My Blue Cross card covers hospital stays but I need to check if this doctor is in-network.
