Amoco

Bygone fuel brand

Amoco was an American oil company, one of the largest in the world before its 1998 merger with British Petroleum (BP).

The name derived from American Oil Company.

Amoco gas stations were ubiquitous across the United States for much of the twentieth century, and the brand persists at some BP-owned stations.
