AS-levels

Pre-university British tests

AS-levels are British academic qualifications typically taken at age 17, after GCSEs but before full A-levels.

Originally the first half of a two-year A-level course, AS-levels now function as standalone qualifications in most of the UK: She's taking AS-levels in chemistry, biology, and maths.

Students often take more AS-levels than they'll continue to A-level, using results to narrow their focus.
