eleven-plus
British school exam
The eleven-plus is an examination taken by British children around age eleven to determine placement in secondary school.
Historically, it sorted students between grammar schools (academic) and secondary modern schools (vocational).
Though largely phased out, some areas still use it for selective school admissions: She's studying for her eleven-plus.
