APB
Patrol car alert
APB stands for "all-points bulletin," a broadcast alert issued by law enforcement to officers across a wide area, typically to locate a suspect or vehicle: Police put out an APB on the stolen car.
The term has spread to general use for any urgent search or widespread notification: I'll put out an APB for those missing files.
