all-points bulletin
Suspect alert broadcast
An all-points bulletin is an urgent broadcast from law enforcement to all units in an area, typically to locate a suspect or vehicle: Police issued an all-points bulletin for the stolen car.
Often abbreviated APB.
The term has spread to informal use for any widespread alert: I put out an APB to my friends about finding an apartment.
