Before sunrise hour
Five in the morning, the hour before dawn in most seasons.
The term evokes either extreme earliness or extreme lateness—an hour reached by waking up unusually early or by staying up all night: I have a 5am flight, We were still drinking at 5am.
Often carries connotations of dedication, desperation, or debauchery depending on context.
