woundedness

State of harm

Woundedness is the state of having been emotionally or psychologically hurt—carrying the effects of past harm.

The term appears often in therapeutic and spiritual contexts: He spoke from a place of deep woundedness.

Unlike a wound, which may heal, woundedness suggests an ongoing condition that shapes how someone relates to the world.
