forest reserve
Guarded natural area
A forest reserve is an area of woodland set aside and protected by government authority, typically to preserve timber resources, protect watersheds, or maintain wildlife habitat.
Unlike national parks, forest reserves may permit regulated logging, grazing, or other commercial activities: The timber company obtained a permit to harvest in the forest reserve.
